Quotes: "Large brewers spent sizable fortunes on advertisements that homogenized the idea of what beer is or what it could be." "Beer was sold by large horses, bikinis, pool parties, dogs, talking frogs and catch phrases."

Speaking news, the Sun King / Oskar Blues Chaka Belgian ale collaboration got a shout-out in Food & Beverage Packaging. Not for the beer though, for the "distinctive 16-ounce resealable Alumi-Tek bottles by Ball Corp."

The Brewers Association says there are now 2,126 breweries in the U.S., up 350 from a year ago. They also say there are 1,252 breweries in planning (although the methodology about that number is missing). article

Indiana has 48 licensed breweries operating now. That's six more than six months ago. The high point was 86 Indiana breweries in 1875.
